Chocolate Molten Lava Cake

Molten lava cake…don’t you just melt when you read that title?! I mean, the warm gooey cake that hits your lips just melts in your mouth like butter!

Add a scoop of cold vanilla ice cream and your bite turns into pure joy.

It’s funny when you take a bite of something and it brings you back to childhood…that’s how you know it’s good!

Ingredients:

  • 1 CUP Milk
  • 2 CUPS Brown Sugar
  • 2 CUPS All-Purpose Flour
  • 6 Tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 4 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 4 Tbsp Butter
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 1/2 CUPS Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 CUP Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 3 CUPS Boiling Water

Directions:

  1. Mix together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt in large bowl.
  2. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
  3. Spread batter over bottom of a large crockpot (this will rise so don’t use the mini crocks).
  4. Combine brown sugar and cocoa powder.
  5. Sprinkle over cake batter.
  6. Pour boiling water over the top of it all and resist all temptation to stir! DO NOT STIR.
  7. Cover and cook on High for 2 – 2 1/2 hours.
  8. Remove lid, turn off, and let rest 30 minutes before serving so it isn’t so hot!
  9. Serve with Vanilla Ice Cream.
  10. Enjoy!
